A.D. — In the Year of Our Michael

He Was Foretold

Born of the Dakotas. Crowned in Irving. His surname is not a name — it is a credential. Welcome, pilgrim, to the cathedral of Michael Godly.

Read the Gospel   Prove Your Devotion

The Four Pillars of the Cathedral

Each pillar bears a portion of the weight of His legend. Touch one. The nave will receive you.

I Scripture The recorded testaments of His origin, lineage, and present form. II Sacred Imagery Seven photographic apparitions, gilded for the faithful. III Trials of Devotion Three rites by which the worthy may be sorted from the lukewarm. IV Relics & Prayer Wall Artifacts of His earthly walk, and a wall to leave your supplications.

Long before he was discovered — before the Dakotas could agree which of them had brought him forth — the prophecy was written in the surnames themselves. There would arise a man whose family name was a verdict. He would not be called Mr. Godly. He would simply be Godly, in the same way a thing is itself.

He chose the LA cap as a veil of humility, that the unworthy might not at first recognize Him. It is recorded in the secondary commentaries that beneath the brim, in the moments unobserved, His true allegiance has always been Cowboys-blue.

Daily Office

A short rite, performed by the faithful at every meal:

"Bless this taco, in His name. Bless this brisket, in His name. Bless these jalapeños, in His name. Dang — they again."
